Course Details
The 3-years GNM degree comprises yearly exam focused on developing holistic nursing competencies via classroom learning and hospital training.
The initial semesters concentrate on building foundation knowledge on topics like anatomy, physiology, nutrition, psychology, etc. Students also learn basic nursing skills, patient examination, dosage calculations, first-aid principles, and medical terminology.
In the later semesters, the focus shifts more towards practical learning during clinical rotations across medical, surgical, pediatric, and maternity specialties enabling hands-on patient care exposure under expert guidance. Students get well-versed in specialized care domains while shadowing experienced nurses.
The final year involves administered project work and a clinical practicum at PHC/CHCs to gain public/community health service experience. Students also undertake nursing administration and leadership-based course modules readying them for supervisory roles.
